Yoga

Derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to unite,” yoga is an ancient journey toward harmony—between mind and body, within ourselves, and with the world around us. Yoga originated in India thousands of years ago, first passed down orally and then written down in texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It is rich in culture, wisdom, and tradition.

At Ametrine Counseling & Yoga, yoga is not just physical postures. Drawing from Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, I include practices from the other limbs as well, such as ethics, breathwork, and meditation. My intention is for each class to be more than movement on a mat. It’s an opportunity to reconnect to your body, quiet your mind, and leave with a gentle sense of peace and connection.
